So, along with my adventures I would also like to start sharing some fashion posts, as the art of fashion is where my true passion lies. So, for my first post I would like to start off by sharing a few key pieces I have in my wardrobe that I believe everyone should have. A good leather jacket, proper ankle booties, the right bag and the perfect hat to top it off. But first, let me start off by saying that pretty much 99.9% of everything I purchase is from a consignment shop or used clothing store. I DO NOT have the income to be able to afford some of these pieces at at full price haha. SO, I am a full advocator of shopping second hand. I have been able to score so many crazy cool things from either Crossroads Trading Company or Fillmore & 5th Consignment (where I currently work).
With that said, a leather jacket is like a girls best. It goes everywhere with her, through thick and thin. For me thats my little Phillip Lim that I scored for next to nothing a couple years back at Crossroads. A good leather jacket should fit like a glove and make you feel like a million bucks. Next on my list is a great pair of ankle booties. I have one too many and I have working at a consignment shop to blame for my shopping addictions. Right now I am absolutely loving these Franco Sarto ones and I pretty much wear them daily. I love a low cut, low heel that can go with pretty much anything, and his just about does the trick. Some other favorites of mine include Madewell and Free People, because they just get it. Next up is the handbag. I was able to score this JCrew leather bucket bag during their cyber Monday sale and I was beyond excited. I think a bucket crossbody is the best option to go with, in my opinion, and if its leather? well than thats even better! Leather is like my kryptonite, I swear. Finally, you need a good hat. I have eyeing this Rag and Bone one for forever, but wasn't willing to pay full price. So when it came into Crossroads I jumped for joy because, again, I got it for something like $30. UMM OK! Some other favorites of mine include Janessa Leone, Brixton, and Free People.
So, those are my top 4 pieces that I think anyone can work into their wardrobe and can do so at an affordable price. And if you take away anything from this, it's that the key to finding great pieces is shopping second hand and knowing what your looking for. Trust me, you don't have to pay an arm and leg to get the look you're going for!!
